Our Company

The Saldanha Bay Oyster Company has tripled in size since it was founded in 2005, and now has 40 full-time employees who work in two Saldanha Bay factories and aboard our two boats, the Imbaza(2005) and the Karlo(2014).

At our waterfront facility at Saldanha Bay, freshly harvested oysters are cleaned and graded and made ready for the market. Our quality assured oysters are then sent to our state-of-the-art packing facility in Pepper Bay Harbour in Saldanha where they are rested and chilled in filtered oxygenated seawater. They are then packed on ice and transported to our local and international clients.
